Adding some greenery to your home will help add color and make it feel more like home to your guests. We at North Beach Realty have devised a short list below of which plants will work best in your home that not even your guests can kill.
Succulents
Succulent plants are a great color addition to your vacation rental. They are beautiful and take very little water each month to stay alive and well. A few options for use in your home are to add to a little terrarium or arrange them on a windowsill or your coffee table. Not only do they require to be watered twice a month, but they only require medium lighting, which makes them the perfect plant to add to your home. You can purchase them at any store like Lowes or Home Depot, or a local nursery will also have them.
Devil’s Ivy
Another great plant to add to your vacation rental that is easy to take care of is what’s known as Devil’s Ivy. This plant is excellent whether on a bookshelf, coffee table, planter stand, or hanging up around the home. They thrive on plenty of sunshine and humidity, so adding to your beach home is a great idea! All you have to do is water them weekly, but we recommend not putting them in direct sunlight as it may make the soil too dry.
Majesty Palms
Since your vacation rental is at the beach, and a palm tree is too big to put inside, check out Majesty Palm. These are larger than the two plants above but perfect for empty corners, screened-in porches, or sunrooms. These plants need minimum care with weekly waterings and as much light as possible. Bring the outdoors indoors to help make your beach home as cozy as possible for your guests. Place your Majesty Palm into colorful planters such as pastel colors or something to match your décor.
Aloe Vera
Did you know Aloe Vera plants are perfect for any beach home? They are superb with any sunburn you may have and make a great addition to any home. These plants don’t need to be watered weekly, just monthly; they love bright sunlight or artificial light. Place them around your home in the kitchen, living room, sunroom, or bedroom to add color to any space. They can be easily found at any hardware store or nursery around the Grand Strand.
